This specimen was lot 4425 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabruck, March 2024), where it sold for €850 (about US$1,115 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"STOLBERG-STOLBERG, GRAFSCHAFT (DIE JÜNGERE LINIE), Johann Martin, 1638-1669. Reichstaler 1653, Rottleberode. Hübsche Patina, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (county of Stolberg, younger line, John Martin, 1638-69, thaler of 1653, Rottleberode mint. Handsome patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This thaler was issued twelve times during 1645-63 yet remains scarce.
