This specimen was lot 1279 in Jean Elsen sale 138 (Brussels, September 2018), where it sold for €180 (about US$248 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ILE SAINT THOMAS ET PRINCE, République (1975-), AR 3500 dobras, 1990. Flan poli. (republic of the islands of St. Thomas and Prince, silver 3500 dobras of 1990. Proof.)"

This large type honors the sea turtle, a dwindling species.

Recorded mintage: 750 proofs.

Specification: 136.08 g, 0.925 fine silver, 4.02 troy oz ASW, 63 mm diameter.
