Sincona sale 47, lot 2971

This specimen was lot 2971 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 350 CHF (about US$420 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, St. Gallen, Stadt und Kanton, 6 Kreuzer 1790. FDC. Prachtexemplar. (canton of St. Gall, six kreuzer of 1790. Uncirculated, Most attractive piece.)"

This type was struck by the city 1786 and 1790.
