This specimen was lot 73293 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $3,120. The catalog description[1] noted, "SWITZERLAND. St. Gallen. Taler, 1776 V. Beda Angehm. PCGS MS-62 Gold Shield. This nearly-choice abbey issue features quality that is seldom encountered, offering a pleasing cabinet tone and some shimmering hints of brilliance emanating from the protected areas."
