This specimen was lot 1203 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 28 (Winter Park, FL, November 2020), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "Seville, Spain, 1 real, Isabel II, 1852RD, PCGS MS65+. Beautifully rainbow toned (hence the "+" designation), particularly inside the obverse rim, but also boldly struck and practically devoid of marks, mostly muted luster." This type was struck at Seville 1850-52, just before the first decimal reform. Among other things, the reform dropped letter mintmarks and assayer's initials.
Recorded mintage: unknown but a better date.
Specification: 1.35 g, 0.903 fine silver, .039 troy oz ASW.
