This specimen was part of lot 29125 in Heritage sale 3022 (New York, January 2013), which sold for $3,290. The catalog description^[1] noted, "George VI Proof Set 1950, the nine coin set in the original mint case. Scarce set with a mintage of 500. Some minor spotting." The farthing was struck in South Africa 1923-60. This type, struck 1948-50, is common in all grades.

Recorded mintage: 8,694,000 plus 500 proofs.

Specification: bronze, plain edge.
