This specimen was lot 72685 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, October 2020), where it sold for $216. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTH AFRICA. 2-1/2 Shillings, 1942. Pretoria Mint. NGC MS-64. Amber and gunmetal gray allure highlights this rather attractive near-Gem, tied with a handful of others at the top spot in the NGC census." This type was struck 1937-47. This date is common.
