This specimen was lot 23036 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $235. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTH AFRICA. Penny, 1934. PCGS MS-65 BN. Deep intense brown with a hint of powder blue in the sheen. A magnificent example with full claims to the assigned gem grade." The pennies of George V were minted 1923-36 with this subtype struck 1931-36. This is a common date.
