This specimen was lot 3832 in Goldberg sale 70 (Los Angeles, September 2012), where it sold for $834. The catalog description[1] noted, "Somalia. 1500 Shillings, 1979. For the 10th Anniversary of the Republic. Workers facing. Choice Brilliant Proof." This type was issued in sets with gold 1000 shillings and copper-nickel ten shillings, most likely distributed to the president's friends and cronies.
