This specimen was part of lot 31203 in Heritage sale 3081 (New York, January 2020), which sold for $7,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "Somalia: Republic 5-Piece Uncertified gold "10th Anniversary of Republic" Proof Set 1970, 1) 20 Shillings; 2) 50 Shillings; 3) 100 Shillings, KM 19; 4) 200 Shillings, KM 21; 5) 500 Shillings. Appealing, each unhandled and with light copper-gold tone. Accompanied by case of issue. Total AGW 3.5243 oz." This type was issued in sets with gold 20, 100, 200 and 500 shillings, most likely distributed to the president's friends and cronies.

Recorded mintage: 8,000.

Specification: 7.00 g, 0.900 fine gold.
