This specimen was lot 1696 in Stephen Album sale 41 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2021), where it sold for $360. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOMALIA: AV 50 shillings, 1965, 5th Anniversary of Independence, mintage of only 6,325 pieces, NGC graded PF65 UC, S." This type was issued in sets with gold 20, 100, 200 and 500 shillings, most likely distributed to the president's friends and cronies. It was struck again in 1966.
