This specimen was lot 4634 in Goldberg sale 84 (Los Angeles, January 2015), where it sold for $129.25. The catalog description[1] noted, "Switzerland: Solothurn. Batzen-10 Rappen, 1826. NGC graded MS-63." The canton of Solothurn, never a steady issuer of coins, issued one batzen pieces 1805-26 in various designs. This issue of 1826 was accompanied by five rappen, 2½ batzen and five batzen. Coinage ceased in 1830. Ten batzen made a frank and four franken made a thaler. This type is not rare.
