Solothurn 1767 10 batzen
This specimen was lot 4458 in Sincona sale 95 (Zürich, October 2024), where it sold for 100 CHF (about US$139 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Solothurn, Stadt und Kanton, 10 Batzen 1767, Solothurn. Dreiblättriger Laubrand. Fast vorzüglich. Felder geglättet. (Switzerland, canton of Solothurn, ten batzen of 1767, Solothurn mint. About Extremely Fine, Fields tooled.)"
In Germany, the convention thaler was 120 kreuzer but 160 kreuzer in Switzerland. Four kreuzer made a batzen and ten batzen was one quarter thaler. This denomination was struck again in 1773 with a different obverse.
