This specimen was lot 3003 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $84. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOLMS-HOHENSOLMS: Hermann Adolf, 1562-1613, AR 3 kreuzer (groschen), 161Z, one-year type, PCGS graded AU55, ex Almer H. Orr III Collection." The county of Solms, a petty state in Hesse, had many branches. The line of Solms-Hohensolms was created in 1548 and became Solms-Hohensolms-Lich in 1718, when Solms-Lich fell extinct. This type was struck 1612 only as Hermann Adolf died in 1613.
