This specimen was lot 34456 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2022), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Sinaloa. Silver 50 Centavos, ND (1914-16). NGC Genuine. Struck from sand cast silver, this incredibly crude type displays just the faintest evidence of the design elements and legends on the rough surfaces. Even still, a RARE type from the Revolution that is always popular." To increase their acceptance, the revolutionaries later counterstamped the fifty centavos and one pesos they made with a "G.C."
