Künker Auction 441, lot 4810

This specimen was lot 4810 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,926 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Joseph I., 1705-1711. Reichstaler 1711 FN, Breslau. Wardein Franz Nowack. RR Etwas fleckige Patina, kl. Schrötlingsfehler, vorzüglich. Aus der Sammlung eines sächsischen Naturwissenschaftlers. (Holy Roman Empire, Joseph I, 1705-11, thaler of 1711, Breslau mint. Very rare, spotty toning, small planchet defects, extremely fine.)"

This type was struck at Breslau in Silesia 1710-11 and is very scarce. The Austrians lost Silesia to Frederick the Great of Prussia in the 1740's.
