Künker Auction 425, lot 1908

This specimen was lot 1908 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €9,500 (about US$13,452 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

GE · HVN · BO · REX · DVX · SIL · Gekröntes Brustbild r. mit umgelegtem Mantel und der Kette des Ordens vom Goldenen Vlies//ARCHIDVX · AVST · DVX · - BVR · MAR · MO · C · T · Y 1650 Gekrönter Doppeladler mit Schwert und Zepter in den Fängen, auf der Brust gekröntes, vierfeldiges Wappen mit Mittelschild, von Ordenskette umgeben, zu den Seiten die Signatur G - H. Von großer Seltenheit. Leichte Bearbeitungsspuren am oberen Rand, sehr schön. Exemplar der Auktion H. D. Rauch 118, Wien 2024, Nr. 649. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand II, 1618-17, double thaler of 1650, Breslau mint. Obverse: crowned and mantled bust right with Order chain; reverse: crowned double headed eagle with sword and scepter in its claws, supporting crowned and quartered arms with escutcheon, Order chain around, initials below. Extremely rare, light tooling on the edge, very fine.)"

This rare one year type was accompanied by a single thaler (Dav-3219), a ducat (Fr-225) and a ten ducats (Fr-unlisted).
