This specimen was lot 1356 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,600 (about US$2,067 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"LIEGNITZ-BRIEG, HERZOGTUM Georg, Ludwig und Christian, 1639-1663. Reichstaler 1656, Brieg. R Feine Patina, winz. Graffiti, leichte Glättungsspuren, sehr schön +. (Germany, duchy of Silesia-Liegnitz-Brieg, George, Louis and Christian, 1639-63, thaler of 1656. Scarce, toning, some graffiti and a mount mark, very fine or better.)"
Silesia is considered a German State even tho the province was then under Austrian rule and is now in Poland.
