This specimen was lot 37471 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCOTLAND. 10 Shillings, 1696. Edinburgh Mint. William II. PCGS VF-25. From the Richard August Collection." The ten shillings was equal to half a Scottish pound or an English shilling. This type was struck 1695-99. The Act of Union in 1707 ended the Scottish coinage.
