Sincona auction 98, lot 4419

This specimen was lot 4419 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Schwyz, Rappen 1843, Schwyz. Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Fast FDC. (Switzerland, Schwyz, rappen of 1843, Schwyz mint. Rare in this condition, About Mint State.)"

This type was struck 1815-16 and 1843-46. After being temporarily unified under Napoleon's Helvetic Republic, the cantons went their separate ways after the Congress of Vienna and issued a torrent of low value coins. The Swiss confederation was reorganized in 1848 and the cantonal issues terminated.
