Sincona sale 35, lot 5297
Sincona sale 47, lot 2928, which may be the same specimen

The first specimen was lot 5297 in Sincona sale 35 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 800 CHF (about US$950 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Schwyz, Halbgulden (20 Schilling) 1785. Seltene Erhaltung. Vorzüglich. (canton of Schwyz, half gulden or twenty schilling of 1785. Rare in this condition, Extremely fine.)"

The seocnd specimen was lot 2928 in Sincona sale 47 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 450 CHF (about US$540 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,

"SWITZERLAND, Schwyz, Halbgulden (20 Schilling) 1785. Gutes sehr schön. (canton of Schwyz, half gulden or twenty schilling of 1785. Good very fine.)"

This rather expensive type was superseded in 1797 by a twenty schilling piece.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver, the first specimen 5.71 g; the second specimen 5.74 g.
