Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt 1867 thaler Dav-919
This specimen was lot 1352 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €550 (about US$741 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWARZBURG, SCHWARZBURG-RUDOLSTADT, GRAFSCHAFT, Albert, 1867-1869. Vereinstaler 1867. Prachtexemplar mit herrlicher Tönung. Fast Stempelglanz. (Germany, county of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt, Albert, 1867-69, union thaler of 1867. Proof example with beautiful toing, about uncirculated.)"
This is the last issue of this tiny state prior to German unification. The count issued a two mark and a ten mark after the coinage reform of 1871 but both are decidedly rare.
Recorded mintage: 13,000.
Specification: 18.52 g, 0.900 fine silver.
