This specimen was lot 1232 in Stephen Album sale 32 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2018), where it sold for $105.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN: Friedrich VI, of Denmark, 1808-1839, AR 8 reichsbank schilling, 1818 CB, NGC graded MS63." This type was struck 1816-19 by the king of Denmark in his capacity as duke of Schleswig-Holstein. Schleswig was Danish-speaking while Holstein was German; the conflicts arising therefrom led to the whole province being conquered and annexed by Prussia in the 1860's.
