This specimen was lot 11544 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. 1/16 Taler, 1677 - CR. Schleswig-Holstein-Plöen. Johann Adolf. NGC EF Details--Bent. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." The duchy of Schleswig-Holstein-Plön was erected in 1622 out of the duchy of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg. John Adolf (b. 1634, r. 1671-1704) was the second of four ruling dukes of this line, which lasted until 1761. This is the only issue of this denomination listed for this state and is rather scarce.
