Stephen Album sale 50, lot 3108

This specimen was lot 3108 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $102. The catalog description[1] noted, "SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN-GOTTORP: Friedrich IV, 1695-1702, AR 4 schilling, 1695, VF-XF, ex Dr. Robert A. Rosenfeld Collection." The dynastic affairs of this duchy were complicated even by German standards as the dukes were related to the king of Denmark and even the czar of Russia. Most coin issues are rare but this one, struck 1695-1702, is affordable.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.

Catalog reference: KM-155.
