Sincona sale 98, lot 4387

This specimen was lot 4387 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Schaffhausen, Dicken 1634, Schaffhausen. Fast vorzüglich. Minimales Zainende. Exemplar der Auktion Künker 115, Osnabrück, September 2006, Los 1471. (Switzerland, canton of Schaffhausen, dicken of 1634, Schaffhausen mint. About Extremely Fine, Minor edge clip.)"

The SCWC does not price this type of 1626-27, 1631-35 in any grade higher than Very Fine. The dicken traded for 24 kreuzer or one third of a thaler in the early seventeenth century. The city arms depict an ibex leaping, sometimes by itself or out of a castle window (as here).
