Künker sale 335, lot 4307

This specimen was lot 4307 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €1,300 (about US$1,701 including buyer's fees). The catalog description^[1] noted,

"SACHSEN, SACHSEN, KÖNIGREICH. Anton, 1827-1836. Konv.-Taler 1828, S. Ausbeute. Selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich +. (Germany, kingdom of Saxony, Anton, 1827-36, convention thaler of 1828, for the mines. Rare in this condition, extremely fine or better.)"

This mining thaler was struck 1828-29 along with the regular thaler (Dav-865).

Recorded mintage: 18,000.

Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine, this specimen 27.91 g.
