Künker sale 293, lot 1254

This specimen was lot 1254 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabruck, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €550 (about US$741 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SACHSEN, KÖNIGREICH, Friedrich August I. 1806-1827. Konv.-Taler 1825, S. Ausbeute. Vorzüglich +. (kingdom of Saxony, Frederick Augustus I, 1806-27, convention thaler of 1825, for the mines. Extremely fine or better.)"

This mining thaler was minted 1824-27 and is fairly common. The obverse photo in the SCWC is incorrect. Thalers were struck to the convention standard until 1839.
