This specimen was lot 1012 in Jean Elsen sale 165 (Brussels, June 2026), where it sold for €240 (about US$331 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, SAXE, Friedrich August III (1763-1806), AR Taler, 1804 IEC, Dresde. Nettoyé. Superbe. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, Frederick Augustus III, 1763-1806, silver thaler of 1804, Dresden mint. Cleaned, Extremely Fine.)"
This convention thaler was issued 1793-1806. It is common. It was issued concurrently with a mining thaler (Dav-851). The issues of 1793-1800 are catalogued as Dav-2703.
