This specimen was lot 4375 in Künker sale 406 (Osnabruck, March 2024), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,837 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM, Friedrich August I. 1694-1733 (August der Starke). Reichstaler 1721, Dresden. Sehr seltener Jahrgang. Sehr schön. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, Frederick Augustus I, 1694-1733, thaler of 1721, Dresden mint. Very scarce date, very fine.)"
This type was issued steadily 1709-33 but is still scarce, like most Saxon thalers of the period 1660-1760. Frederick Augustus was also king of Poland.
