Saxony 1607-HvR 2 thaler Dav-7565
This specimen was lot 4410 in Künker sale 441 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €1,600 (about US$2,201 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM Christian II., Johann Georg I. und August, 1591-1611. Dicker doppelter Reichstaler 1607, Dresden. R Kl. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, Felder min. berieben, sehr schön-vorzüglich. Erworben bei der Degussa, Frankfurt am Main. (electorate of Saxony, Christian II, John George and August, 1591-1611, double thaler of 1607, Dresden mint. Rare, edge cracks, fields tooled, very fine to extremely fine.)"
The SCWC notes this type for 1604-11, tho all dates are rare, unlike the single thaler (Dav-7566).
