Saxony 1603-HB thaler Dav-7561
This specimen was lot 1678 in Jean Elsen sale 117 (Brussels, June 2013), where it sold for €170 (about US$268 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, SAXE, Christian II, Johann Georg Ier et August (1601-1611), AR Taler, 1603 HB, Dresde. Droit: B. cuirassé de Christian II à droite, tenant une épée sur l'épaule. A droite, un heaume. Revers: B. cuirassé de face de Johann Georg et d'August, entourés de 14 écussons. Très Beau. (Germany, Saxony, Christian II, John George and August, 1601-11, silver thaler of 1603, Dresden mint. Obverse: armored bust of Christian II to right bearing a sword, helmet at elbow; reverse: facing armored busts of John George and August, 14 shields around. Very fine.)"
