This specimen was part of lot 967 in Jean Elsen sale 165 (Brussels, June 2026), which sold for €180 (about US$248 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"ALLEMAGNE, SAXE, August (1553-1586), lot de 2 p.: demi-Taler, 1580; quart de Taler, 1586. Kohl 35, 45. Traces de monture. Beau à Très Beau. (Germany, electorate of Saxony, August, 1553-86, silver half thaler of 1580 and quarter thaler of 1586. Trace of a mount mark, Fine - Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1571-86, all with mintmaster HB.
