Künker sale 263, lot 1159

This specimen was lot 1159 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €600 (about US$775 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SACHSEN, KURFÜRSTENTUM Johann Friedrich der Großmütige und Georg, 1534-1539. Taler 1535, Buchholz. Sehr schön. (Electorate of Saxony, John Frederick the Magnanimous and George, 1534-39, thaler of 1535, Buchholz mint, very fine.)"

This type of 1534-38 is common and very similar to Dav-9721.
