This specimen was lot 1386 in Stephen Album sale 27 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2017), where it sold for $2,350. The catalog description[1] noted, "SAXE-ERNESTINE LINE: Friedrich III der Weise, 1486-1525, AR dicker guldengroschen, Annaberg, 1522. portraying his brother and successor Johann I (der Beständige) on the reverse, VF, RR, ex Hans Mondorf Collection." Davenport notes that this rare type comes dated 1522-23.
