This specimen was lot 52080 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $1,020. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Saxony (Ernestine). Taler (Guldengroschen), ND (1507-25). Annaberg Mint. Friedrich III, with Johann & Georg. PCGS Genuine--Repaired, EF Details. An impressive early Taler displaying a trio of portraits. Much of the fields display evidence of smoothing and tapping, but the surfaces have since toned over deeply throughout."
