Sincona sale 33, lot 2417

This specimen was lot 2417 in Sincona sale 33 (Zürich, October 2016), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach, Herzogtum. Karl August, 1775-1828 Konventionstaler 1815. Vorzüglich-FDC. Schrötlingsriss. (grand duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, Charles Augustus, 1775-1828, convention thaler of 1815. Extremely fine-uncirculated, Planchet fault.)"

This rare issue was the first from this locale after the duke's promotion to grand duke.
