This specimen was lot 3857 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 90 CHF (about US$114 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHLAND Sachsen-Coburg-Gotha, Herzogtum Ernst II. 1844-1893. Vereinstaler 1870, Dresden. Sehr schön. (Germany, duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Ernest II, 1844-93, union thaler of 1870, Dresden mint, very fine.)"
This type was issued 1862, 1864 and 1870 and is the most affordable thaler from this locale.
