This specimen was lot 3982 in Goldberg sale 104 (Los Angeles, June 2018), where it sold for $276. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Saxe-Altenburg. Taler, 1869-B. Ernst. Lightly toned. PCGS graded MS-62." This type was issued 1858, 1864 and 1869 and is the last and only affordable thaler from this state. Ernst was duke 1853-1908.
