Sincona sale 38, lot 1574

This specimen was lot 1574 in Sincona sale 38 (Zürich, May 2017), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$600 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Carlo Felice, 1821-1831 20 Lire 1830. Torino. Selten. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (kingdom of Sardinia, Charles Felix, 1821-31, twenty lire of 1830, Turin mint, Rare, Very fine-extremely fine.)"

This type was struck at Turin (shown here) and Genoa 1821-31. While not rare, it is scarce, particularly in nice condition, tho this is a better date.

Recorded mintage: 35,301.

Specification: 6.45 grams, 0.900 fine gold, .186 troy oz AGW, this specimen 6.42 g.
