Santander 1902 10 centavos
This specimen was part of lot 44460 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), which sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. Province of Santander. Lot of (4) 10 & 50 Centavos, 1902. EF-45, AU-53, AU-55, & EF Detail--Damage (PCGS). 4 pieces in lot. All uniface issues in brass from 1902 during the Civil War. 10 Centavos ND (1902) AU-55, well detailed with smooth surfaces and dark brassy toning, ...From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This token was issued by a rebel commander in the province of Santander during one of Colombia's incessant internal conflicts. It is accompanied by brass fifty and twenty centavos.
