This specimen was lot 44458 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $630. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1902/2 5 Centavos. Waterbury mint. Copper-nickel. MS-63 (PCGS). Highly lustrous and choice for the grade, with a sound strike and no distractions. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This rare type was struck in Connecticut along with a 2½ centavos (KM 190). It was issued for the province of Panama which obtained independence in 1903, rendering this type obsolete. A silver five centavos (KM 191), struck in Philadelphia in 1902, is common.
