Salzburg 1685 ducat Fr-813
This specimen was lot 1695 in Künker sale 352 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €1,700 (about US$2,366 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DIE GEISTLICHKEIT IN DEN HABSBURGISCHEN ERBLANDEN, SALZBURG, ERZBISTUM, Max Gandolph von Küenburg, 1668-1687. Dukat 1685. GOLD. Vorzüglich. (archbishopric of Salzburg, Max Gandolph von Küenburg, 1668-87, ducat of 1685. extremely fine.)"
This type was struck 1668-87 and is common. In addition to a wide array of gold coins ranging from a quarter ducat to ten ducats, many were issued in klippe (square) format for presentation.
