This specimen was lot 25919 in Heritage sale 3032 (Chicago, April 2014), where it sold for $587.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "U.S.S.R. Proof 20 Kopecks 1973, PR67 PCGS. Obv. National Arms. Rev. Date and value within wheat sprigs. Near-flawless surfaces, with bold definition and fully mirrored fields. Very rare and unlisted in Proof." The mintages of this type produced 1961-91 are not recorded but most dates are common. The years 1965-76 must have seen a cutback in production as all those dates are scarce. Proofs are unlisted.
Recorded mintage: unknown but very scarce.
