Russia 1900-FZ 50 kopeks
This specimen was lot 6104 in Künker sale 354 (Osnabrück, Germany, September 2021), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,948 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RUSSLAND, KAISERREICH, Nikolaus II. 1894-1917. 50 Kopeken 1900, St. Petersburg. In US-Plastikholder der NGC mit der Bewertung MS 63 + (5777401-005). Selten in dieser Erhaltung. Prachtexemplar. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (empire of Russia, Nicholas II, 1894-1917, fifty kopeks of 1900, St. Petersburg mint. Graded NGC MS-63+, scarce in this quality, choice example, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This is from a type struck 1895-1914. The fifty kopeks replaced the old poltina or half ruble.
