This specimen was lot 75331 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Kopek, 1895-CNB. St. Petersburg Mint. Nicholas II. NGC MS-65 Brown. An attractive, well struck Gem with glossy surfaces and a brown to brick-red patina." This type was struck 1867-71, 1876-1914 in large numbers and is common. This example realized seventeen times the catalog value in Uncirculated.
