This specimen was lot 42582 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $9,600. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. 25 Kopeks, 1892-(AT). St. Petersburg Mint. Alexander III. PCGS MS-64. An immaculate coin, this RARE minor issue features vibrant rainbow tone over flashy, well-preserved surfaces. The single finest example certified by PCGS to date, and if fact, the only example seen at the Mint State tier. As such, a coin that will surely become the target of the specialist that seeks rarity, quality, and eye appeal." This type is listed for 1886-94. All dates are scarce to rare, especially compared to the large numbers of twenty kopeks issued in the same period. Alexander III ruled 1881-94. The twenty-five kopeks superseded the polupoltinnik (quarter ruble) last coined in 1810. The assayer's initials are stamped into the edge.

Specification: 5.00 g, 0.900 fine silver, 22.6 mm diameter, edge lettered ЧИСТАГО СЕРЕБРА 1 ЗОЛОТНИКА 5,25 ДОЛЕЙ А∙Г.
