Steve Album Auction 53, lot 3287

This specimen was lot 3287 in Steve Album Auction 53 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA: Alexander II, 1855-1881, AR 20 kopeks, 1873, St. Petersburg Mint, Nikolai Iossa mintmaster, rare type with eagle of 1874-81, lightly cleaned, PCGS graded UNC details." In 1867, the weight of the twenty kopeks was reduced from 4.14 g, 0.750 fine silver to 3.60 g, 0.500 fine silver and struck in that form until the collapse of the regime. None were made 1894-1900.

Recorded mintage: 15,185,000.

Specification: 3.60 g, 0.500 fine silver, 22 mm diameter, reeded edge.
