Sincona sale 12, lot 446

This specimen was lot 446 in Sincona sale 12 (Zürich, October 2013), where it sold for 60 CHF (about US$78 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Rouble 1812, St. Petersburg Mint, M. Very fine." The SCWC records this product of the St. Petersburg mint (СПБ) for 1810-26 and is the first really common ruble.

Recorded mintage: 4,076,000.

Specification: 20.73 g, 0.868 fine silver, this specimen 20.37 g.
