This specimen was lot 34272 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $564. The catalog description[1] noted, "Alexander I 2 Kopecks 1811 EM-HM MS65 Brown NGC. Ekaterinburg, (EM), mint. Plain edge. An extraordinary coin with a superb strike and unmarked glossy surfaces." This type was struck in large numbers 1810-30 at Ekaterinburg (shown here) Izhora, Kolyvan and St. Petersburg but few survive in nice condition.

Recorded mintage: 129,000,000 for 1810-11.
